LE MARQUIS LOVES THE BAGATELLE PARK
Many are the parks and gardens where we can stroll in Paris, but it is here the Bagatelle Park that we present today...
Located in the 16th district of the capital in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, the park and its castle were built in 1775 after 64 days of construction. Only 64 days you will say... It was in fact a bet between Queen Marie-Antoinette and her brother-in-law the Count of Artois. This led the public to nickname the Parc de Bagatelle "La Folie d'Artois".
Even if it is the result of an amusing bet, we can't take away the fact that this green complex has a lot of charm. It is also part of one of the four poles of the botanical garden of the City of Paris.
With the arrival of the new school year, the end of the beautiful days approaching ... We will need for some a green place, quiet, and where we can relax and escape into our deepest dreams. Bagatelle Park can only meet these expectations. It is known to be a place of stroll and travel.
THE ENCHANTED GARDEN OF PARIS
Open from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week, we really have the opportunity at any time of the day to go there. Either very early to enjoy the morning dew with silence, or later to stroll under the still hot summer sun.
Between greenery, flowers, small bridges, water bodies with artificial waterfalls, peacocks walking around, rocks... We have the real impression to be in the enchanted garden that we always imagined as children.
If you want to arrange a romantic date with your partner, we recommend you venture into the park's large rose garden where 10,000 rose plants representing about 1,200 varieties are on display. This is the ideal place to let yourself go and say what you feel to the other person. Remember, the red rose is the symbol of love, beauty and passion...
If you just want to rest, to be alone, we suggest you take a paperback book and immerse yourself in reading sitting on one of the picnic tables in the middle of the park.
During your excursion, you will come across a 19th century Chinese pagoda. But why? The park was built in an Anglo-Chinese style, a trendy style at the time.
The park also frequently hosts exhibitions and all kinds of cultural events!
